3. LockMyPix Photo Vault
This one was my favorite option for protecting my photos and videos from the prying eyes of the public. LockMyPix is structured to provide the safest photo vault for all of your personal media files. It uses military-grade AES encryption and allows you to hide photos using a PIN or pattern.
It has a simple user interface that allows you to encrypt your photos and videos right from the app’s home screen. You can even snap photos and add them to the vault in a matter of seconds. You can use the add-on features to unlock the app with your fingerprint, lock the vault with a shake of the device, and even hide LockMyPix from the app drawer.
The good part is that you can’t screenshot the app while it’s unlocked, which improves your content’s privacy and security. While the free plan includes a number of features, the Pro version adds the ability to create fake login credentials.
When someone is harassing you to unlock the app, this function will prove useful because you can give them access to a backup vault with a fake PIN. The only disadvantage of this app is that private photos and videos cannot be backed up to the cloud.
4. Calculator by FishingNet
Calculator is a one-of-a-kind app in this list that is designed to act and look like a calculator but hides a safe vault behind it. Basically, if your family members use your mobile phone on a regular basis, you can use the Calculator app to hide pictures and videos without appearing to be hiding anything.
To access the secret vault, you can set a numeric PIN that you must enter in the Calculator and press the “=” key. The greatest feature is that the media is encrypted with AES encryption, so you’re safe on that front as well.
When it comes to features, you have Intruder Selfie, which lets the app to take pictures of people of users who attempt to access the hidden vault. Aside from that, if someone compels you to open the hidden vault, you can create a fake vault.

5. Hide Pictures & Videos – Vaulty
Vaulty is just another well-known and dependable photo/video hiding app that, while it may appear a little dated, does an excellent job. Simply launch the app, select the files you want to stay hidden from the gallery, and password protect them from prying eyes. Vaulty’s main feature is that it records “mugshots” of outsiders who attempt to access your vault but fail to type in the correct password.
The moment you open the app, you’ll know who tried to intrude into your personal space. This functionality is available to the users for free, which is a big plus. You’ll also be able to create multiple vaults, each with its own password, to store different kinds of photos or videos. If you want to recover data from the cloud or remove ads from the app, you’ll need to upgrade to the premium membership.
6. Hide Something
Hide Something is among the easiest apps for hiding photos and videos on your Android device, with nearly 5 million downloads. PIN, password, or fingerprint security can be used to protect photos and videos. It’s as easy as sending a file with the Hide Something app to add new photos or videos to the ‘hidden’ folder.
You also get a mini-theme library, support for a variety of media file types, an improved image viewer, and a fake login mode to protect your privacy even more. Hide Something is also sensitive to detection, so it does not appear in the ‘recently used’ list.
But the feature that really stands out to me is that the app backs up all of your personal media files to Google Drive and allows you to browse them using the desktop browser. For the end user, this makes sifting through and obtaining photos and videos much easier.
7. Safe Folder of Google Files
Google Files, unlike the majority of the apps on this list, is not a complete vault app. Google, on the other hand, has recently added a handy Safe folder to help you hide your private documents, images, videos, and audio files. The Safe folder can be found in the Browse tab’s Collections section.

Sgallery is another great vault app to consider if you want to hide photographs and videos. The files are encrypted using the AES encryption algorithm. With the premium membership, you also get more features like fingerprint unlock, shake to close, intruder photo, fake passcodes, time PIN, and personalized wallpaper.
Sgallery also has the option of being classified as a calculator or converter. Others won’t be able to tell if you have any hidden files this way. A built-in browser and notepad are also included for surfing and storing text securely. Furthermore, the app prompts you to create a password recovery question in case you forget your password in the long run, which is a useful feature.
9. Hide Files – Andrognito
Andrognito, which stands for Android + Incognito, is one of the safer privacy-protection apps available. It works by encrypting your photos, videos, and other files with military-grade AES encryption while storing them in the cloud to free up space on your device.
This app’s free version allows you to hide apps in a single vault; however, the PRO version allows you to create more private vaults, access your vaults via cloud backups on various devices, and gain access to extra features. It will also almost immediately remove intrusive advertisements that irritate.
The fake vault spoofing, hidden icon, fake force close, and configurable theming features are all available once you unlock the PRO version of the app. But, in the first place, it was the app’s simple interface that drew me in.
10. PhotoGuard
PhotoGuard is also another app that you can use to hide videos and photos on your Android smartphone. Your media files are fully protected and can’t be brute-forced to open the vault because it uses AES encryption instead of TKIP. Aside from that, PhotoGuard offers cloud backup and claims to keep encryption active at all times, whether on the device or in the cloud.
You can also use a PIN, Pattern, Password, or Fingerprint to protect your photos and videos. The best part is that you can add an added level of security inside the vault as well. For example, inside the vault, you can set a password for albums, which is fantastic.
Break-in alerts are also provided by PhotoGuard, which snap photos of the intruder and log the time so you can track down the intruder. A photo viewer and video player are also included in the vault, which support a variety of file formats.
Aside from that, you get a personal camera to use for snapping pictures and storing them inside the vault, away from other gallery apps. Simply put, PhotoGuard is one of the best apps for hiding photos and videos, and its features are worth exploring.
